Grains of Love

Grains of Love, owned by Matt and Megan Tuttle, first began as a cottage bakery, working out of their very own home and exhibiting at the local farmers markets and shows to sell their baked goods. While they were very successful with their home bakery business, it had always been a dream of theirs to own their own storefront. With a lot of hard work, amazing baked goods and late nights + early mornings, they were able to make this delicious dream become a reality. As the business began to expand, the team at Grains of Love knew they wanted to elevate their brand to reflect the direction their business was headed, while still keeping the authenticity of how they began.

Creative direction

Choosing warm and welcoming colors that pertain to the bakery industry was important for this rebrand and logo. A warm golden color was thoughtfully selected to represent the sourdough, along with a cream, cinnamon, charcoal and warm sage helped to pull in the cafe elements and, ultimately, create a friendly atmosphere for the community to enjoy.

We found a rounded and inviting font to create the logo, altering it to become more intertwined – giving a nod to kneading the dough. We paid tribute to the old logo with the heart woven into the wheat symbol.

For secondary patterns and fonts, we chose a handwritten font and created hand-done sketches and patterns.

having the letters “knead” together

Grains of Love’s original logo had a heart, so we wanted to pay tribute to where the business began and dotted the eye with a heart. We then added wheat grains to incorporate what makes up most of the products they sell.

Having the main font of the logo mimic the folding and curves of the dough was our goal with this logo. We loved having the letters roll into each other to create that kneading effect.
