Visual Communication Designer

Brand It Marketing Communications is an established and growing marketing firm in Northwest Ohio. We are seeking a professional who would have experience in both Photography and Graphic Design.

The ideal candidate for this position would be responsible for a dual role. Designer to update and maintain the client’s brand integrity throughout multiple print and digital pieces, including website mockups, social media, apparel, brochures, business cards, video graphics, etc. Photographer to capture images and create videos that tell a story or document an event for our widespread client base. This role is for someone who thrives working in a fast-paced environment shooting + editing content to accurately reflect the brand for a wide variety of clients.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Include but are not limited to the following:​

  • Shoot + edit video and audio to produce captivating videos that tell our clients’ stories. This includes using various media including graphics, animations, copy, music and voice overs to create professional grade content.
  • Must be able to work proficiently in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop, as well as Lightroom and Premier Pro for video editing (Experience in others, such as After Effects, is preferred, but not required.)
  • Serve as Brand It’s primary Photographer and/or Videographer for our client base. This includes traveling with key team members to client locations and producing visual content creation for both digital and print media. Also, assist in graphic design projects, as designated by the Senior Graphic Designer. 
  • Work simultaneously on multiple projects based on current company workload.
  • Maintain tight schedules and deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capture high-quality photo and video content – both candid and staged. This includes being the lead on all photo/video projects from start to finish. Coordinate all activities and materials supporting each photographic and video shoot project, including working with detailed content briefs and storyboards.
  • Work with Project Managers and Digital Marketing team to produce email campaigns, digital newsletters and social media graphics, as well as strategize photo and video concepts. Potentially meeting with clients, along with Project Manager, and taking their feedback/direction for edits on materials.
  • Creatively enhance, evolve, and maintain company brands across all collateral, including brochures, advertisements, sales materials and digital communications.
  • Oversee inventory and maintenance of photo, video and editing equipment.
  • Pre-flight and prepare files for print as well as communicate directly with print vendors.

Education and/or experience

Qualified candidates must have the following:

  • 2+ years’ photo and/or video experience + online portfolio of work. AND 2+ years in professional commercial design, preferably with a marketing or creative agency.
  • Degree in Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Experience and knowledge in both print and digital media- for graphics and photography.
  • Extensive experience with photography and videography production + editing, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Lightroom). Also experienced with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of creating digital illustrations.
  • Must provide strong conceptual and creative portfolio demonstrating expertise in design creation.
  • Proficient skills in proofreading.
  • Display passion for both photographic and video content, as well as excellent technical and photographic skills.
  • Desire to learn new skills, grow within the brand and see this as a long-term position.
